Based in Brooklyn, I work as a rabbi serving communities, individuals, couples, and families in NYC and beyond as a teacher, ritual and lifecycle companion, and pastoral guide. For the last 9 years, I served as the Assistant/Associate Rabbi in congregations in Cincinnati, Long Island, and Massachusetts. Teaching and learning are what my rabbinate are all about. I have always done my best learning when I have a meaningful relationship with my teachers and classmates, and I love bringing together a deep sense of presence (and humor!) with meaningful learning.
I grew up in the Berkshires, and am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. I received my rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2013. Through work on my thesis project, I developed a love for meditation and Jewish spiritual practices. I am also a movie, TV, and theater lover, avid reader of fiction and memoirs, foodie, and tennis fan. You can also find me at www.rabbirachelmaimin.com.
