MEET
Rabbi Adam Gindea
After growing up in an Orthodox community in the Five Towns of Long Island and studying in a yeshiva day school, I continued my Jewish education receiving a B.A. in Bible from the Jewish Theological Seminary and a B.A. in Religion from Columbia University. With a love of and dedication to learning, teaching, and experiencing Jewish texts, rituals, and life, I continued on to receive a Certificate of Jewish education at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem. While living in Israel, I also received rabbinic ordination and apprenticed as a sofer (scribal arts). I worked as an experiential Jewish educator and classroom teacher designing my own curricula and courses at a day school in New Jersey. After a short time owning and operating a kosher BBQ food truck, my wife and I moved our family to Miami to launch Base Miami using our home as a central meeting place for Jewish learning and life. Over the past years, Base Miami has engaged deeply with thousands of individuals exploring their own Jewish life and identity. I am also currently training as a Spiritual Director.
My life’s journey has taken me across and through the various denominational streams of Jewish life. I have been honored and privileged to learn from so many across the Jewish world and what I have learned most deeply is that every denomination, community, and individual voice enhances and beautifies the interwoven tapestry of the Jewish people.
