Adi Alouf is a Jewish educator living in San Francisco, California. She’s currently the Director of Jewish and Student Life at the Jewish Community High School (JCHS) in San Francisco. Adi loves teaching and learning in pluralistic Jewish community and working with students to cocreate that community. Adi is committed to creating many access points for Jewish engagement, facilitating dynamic Israel education, and celebrating queer Jewish community and identity development. She also teaches two courses: Mishnah and Gemara, and Jewish Social Justice.
Outside of school, Adi tutors students of all ages in B-Mitzvah preparation or other Judaic studies material, and officiates B-Mitzvot and personalized Jewish weddings. Adi earned a BA in Religion from Columbia University, a BA in Talmud and Rabbinics from the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), as well as an MA in Jewish Ethics from JTS. Adi completed the 14-month Jewish Studies In-Service Teacher Training Program at the Pardes Institute.
Prior to working at JCHS, Adi taught middle school Jewish Studies in Manhattan and served as the Middle School Service Learning Coordinator and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator. In her spare time, Adi enjoys reading a good novel at a local coffee shop, traveling, hosting Shabbat, and watching the Golden State Warriors win.
