MEET
Rabbi Nicole Auerbach

The best learning expands not only our minds, but also our hearts and souls. I love diving into Jewish text, prayer, and practice, to discover what our rich inherited tradition can bring to our lives. Curiosity is my greatest spiritual strength, and I look forward to seeing where your questions lead us!

I am a second-career rabbi who came to Judaism through conversion; I remember well what it is like to be new to Jewish learning! Following a career in law, I was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. I currently work for the Union for Reform Judaism, working to foster and support new Jewish communities. Prior to taking this role, I served as the director of adult engagement at Central Synagogue for 7 years. I am also a spiritual director and am training as a teacher of Jewish mindfulness meditation through the Institute for Jewish Spirituality.

In addition to my rabbinic ordination, I hold a B.A. in Women's Studies from Harvard College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. I live in New York City with my husband, two teenage daughters, and two beloved but very high-maintenance dogs.
