When interpreting the experience of Divine revelation at Mount Sinai in the Torah, there is a Midrash (rabbinic commentary) that explains that each person—from an infant to Moses— and each nation (over 70 at the time) were able to hear and understand God’s voice in their own unique way and in a language they could understand. Not only does this inclusive teaching recognize that we, as individuals and collectives, have the ability to interpret the mysteries of life, but it is calling us to uncover our particular understanding necessary for the collective awakening of the world. This exploratory process of searching for our own inner Torah is what I believe learning is all about. It would bring me great meaning to go on this journey with you. Through inquiry, reflection, and conversation— with Jewish text and each other—my hope is that we come to better understand who we are and who we are meant to be. A little about me: I have over 13 years of experience working in a diverse range of educational settings and across the lifespan. I have a Masters in Jewish Education through the Jewish Theological Seminary and am on my way to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist. Additionally, I am in a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Program led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. I am filled by the opportunities I have to be outside in nature, biking, singing/playing guitar with friends, meditating, dancing, and hosting Jewish gatherings in the Twin Cities.
