Hi! I'm Rabbanit Goldie Guy. I am passionate about facilitating deep engagement with Jewish text, tradition, and life for all those who seek it. I believe in bringing our whole selves to Torah - heart, mind, and soul. The Torah and Judaism belong to all of us, and can and should speak to all of our experiences.
My approach to Torah study comes from my time spent in traditional yeshiva settings, as well as studying religion in university. I received semikha from Yeshivat Maharat in 2017 and I hold a BA in religion from Barnard College of Columbia University. I have served as the Director of Hadar Chicago, and the Director of Religious Engagement at Anshe Sholom B’nai Israel Congregation in Lakeview (Chicago), as well as an educator at the Columbia/Barnard Hillel, Drisha, Yeshivat Maharat, SAR High School, and Carmel Academy Middle School. I have studied Torah in a variety of settings, including the Graduate Program in Advanced Talmudic Studies at Yeshiva University, the Beit Midrash for Women at Migdal Oz, and Drisha.
I currently live in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago with my husband Jonathan and our baby. I dabble in meditation, and enjoy painting and walks along the lakefront path, especially along the dog-friendly beaches.
