I'm Adam, and I am the Senior Jewish Educator at the Hillels of Georgia. I love Jewish texts and history, which I have studied in Berkeley, Jerusalem, Vienna, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, but I have called Atlanta home since 2014. I hold a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible from Emory University, and my academic work integrates Hebrew Bible scholarship, Peace and Conflict Studies, and Jewish Ethics. I have a particular interest in Second Temple Judaism, including Jewish apocalyptic literature and the Dead Sea Scrolls, but I love to nerd-out over all things Jewish history related.
While writing my dissertation, I began working toward rabbinic ordination at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, and I am an officer in the US Army Reserve, where I serve as a chaplain. In my free time, I enjoy exploring Atlanta’s food scene with my wife, Sharon, and my son, Milo.
