Shalom and Hello! My name is Joey Eisman and I am an experiential educator, educational consultant, and a doctoral student studying educational psychology at Temple University. So, you can say I am scholar-practitioner in training (my advisor is planning on taking off my training wheels soon!). I am deeply interested in empathy, identity, emotions, motivation, social and emotional learning (SEL), and creativity. If you want to nerd-out and chat about these ideas in a Jewish context, hit me up!
Now for the details…
I hold an M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University, a B.S. from University of Michigan, and a certificate from the M2 Senior Educators Cohort. I am an alum of Ramah, USY, and NCSY. Additionally, I was selected as a JDC Entwine Jewish Service Corps Fellow, where I advanced informal Jewish Education experiences for teenagers and young adults in parts of Eastern Europe. I served as a Senior Program Manager for Global Engagement at BBYO, where I managed BBYO’s global expansion strategy, reaching Jewish teens in over 40 countries. I specialize in immersive program travel and have led educational travel-based experiences on five continents.
