MEET

Mati Esther Engel

Mati is a psychedelic hospital chaplain, practical theologian, Jewish scholar, and an expressive arts healing guide. She has worked extensively with clients and patients to cultivate personal rituals, prayer practices, and personal theologies. Mati is a seasoned death doula, grief counselor, and spiritual care practitioner. She has seen over 300 clients in her psychedelic medicine practice.

She has earned a Bachelors in Jewish Philosophy from Yeshiva University, a Masters in Theological Studies from The University of Chicago, and Jewish History and Civilization from the Paideia Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
Mati spent a year in Yeshivah, focusing primarily on biblical studies at the Michlalah College in Jerusalem. Apart from her extensive academic training, Mati was raised primarily within the Hassidic community, in Boro Park, Brooklyn.

In addition to Mati's love for Jewish studies, Mati has spent two years in Germany immersed in Performance Art and Devised Theater at ArtHaus Berlin and is an active member of Thomas Huebel's Timeless Wisdom (TWT) community, which primarily explores intergenerational trauma.
